been treated with a process to be acceptable in food grade applications. Not only are POPi items made with recycled ocean plastic, but 25% of the proceeds of POPi products sold will be donated to non-profits that work to clean up oceans and beaches, support marine conservation, and research plastic pollution. This supports a critical effort, as 93% of plastic reaches the ocean through ten major riverways. POPi works to support organizations capturing plastic before it reaches the ocean, developing better recycling systems in developing countries, researching the effects of plastic in the ocean and on marine life, and providing better solutions for recovered and recycled packages that were heading for the ocean.
